Okay, there were a lot more bands on the tour that night than just Blessthefall and Memphis May Fire– but honestly we got held up and did not make it to the venue until about eight PM when The Color Morale was just finishing up their set. The show started super early as fans were let into the doors at five thirty and Bad Seed Rising took to the stage an hour later at six thirty. So what was the absolute stacked lineup including: Bad Seed Rising, Sylar, The Color Morale, Blessthefall, and Memphis May Fire now just turned into Blessthefall and Memphis May Fire for us unfortunately. Luckily just announced last night- the entire tour seems to be on this summers Vans Warped tour with the exception of The Color Morale. Who has yet to make any announcements on their plans for this summer. The entire tour has run into some headline news in the last few days between Warped Tour Announcements, The Color Morale’s van breaking down, and Blessthefall’s trailer being robbed.
Despite all the recent news, Blessthefall took to the stage that night full of energy. As expected frontman, Beau Bokan stormed the stage spraying the crowd with a water-bottle like fountain as they cued into 2.0. The energy continued throughout the entire set as they played through some of their massive hits including: Hollow Bodies, Young Bloods, and finished strong with You Wear A Crown But Your No King.
Memphis May Fire is another energetic on stage act. They played a longer set, 14 songs total including the encore that had every fan off their feet and screaming the lyrics right back at the band. They kicked the set off with one of their newer tracks, This Light I Hold which features Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach (not present for the show). The band just put out a brand new album this past fall on Rise Records- be sure to check it out here. About half way through the show, they slowed things down for a bit as they played their acoustic track- Miles Away. It is always great to see a metalcore band just get back to the basics and just have such raw emotion in a song. MMF makes it clear that their stories have deep meaning, and fans can connect with that on a personal level. They finished strong with Carry On before coming out for the encore and playing Without Walls and The Sinner.
Be sure to catch everyone out on the Vans Warped Tour this summer, and support their new albums!
