“Isolate and Meditate”
post-grunge/Alternative metal
by: Alyssa Boergermann

When Saron Gas released “Fragile” independently in 2000 before becoming Seether in 2002 with the launch of “Disclaimer” their first official album, we hadn’t yet glimpsed the journey and evolution that lay before this group. Each record since has served as a stepping stone leading through the muck and mire of emotions we can all relate with to the hope of their next release. On May 1, 2014, they set the stage for their newest album with the release of it’s first single, “Words as Weapons.” Flexing a lighter sound but heavier message, they claim “All I really want is something beautiful to say- To never fade away- I wanna live forever.” The band did offer this as a free download from their website to originally promote the upcoming album.  Nothing unexpected from this album- from raw lyrics to the hard hits and guitar riffs, this is one you’ll be sure to hear on radio. Perfect for any die hard fan, or newcomer.

Seether still has the rhythm to make radio airplay pleasing to any new or die hard fan. As you continue to sift through the tracks, you find something beautiful was certainly accomplished. Much of it comes off as a prayer that is at times a desperate plea, and in other moments is angry but clinging to hope.
